Each Sunday after attending Queenstown Lutheran Church (Terry Kee is terrific) we start our Sunday ritual - a visit to Far East Flora (across Queensway), chicken macnuggets kid's meal at MacDonalds and then a walk home. Today, I decided to walk along the perimeter of the forest. We have had lots of rain for the past few days and thought, hmmm - maybe some interesting insects will appear. I wsa not disappointed.
A small grasshopper
A tri-flower
some turtles in the pond adjacent to MacDonalds
then a lone turtle
And sort of good news bad news. An elegant red dragonfly resting on a rather dull and boring white pipe.
What was interesting were the wing shadows
From behnd
and the side. Then he decided enough is enough - and off he went
Then a grasshopper peaking over the leaf
and a rather elegant red bug
a different view
Another grasshopper
from a different view
Then a small small white flower with blue
A rather uncooperative butterfly - which would not sit still long enough for a sharp focus
a different view
And one of the interesting yellow flowers
Maybe with some small insects inside?
and a last butterfly
