July 8, 2011:Snorkeling around White Sand Island

Though the water was not particularly clear and there was lots of particulate stuff (probably from rain runoff) I needed my snorkel fix. So off to White Sand. Some time ago I figured out that I could take cloudy images and restore the color balance and they appeared as if in very clear water. Below are examples. You'll see in one of the clown fish photos, there is a lot of particulate matter in the water - but color balance restoration seems to help.

Acropora - health, following a year of really high temperatures (> 30C)
