June 1, 2007: Walking along LaSalle St

Usually when I visit Duke, I stay at the Millenium Hotel which is within walking distance of Duke. It is a pleasant walk because I can change my mind and walk towards Hillsboro Road. Along the way are plants and small insects and here is what I found

When I was a kid - picking honeysuckle and biting the end and sucking out the fluid was simply the greatest

This grasshopper was resting on a blackberry stalk. I love the blackberries and blackberry pie - but the thorns (under the grasshopper) were no fun

There were many red ants poking around these little white flowers

Sometimes hunting in pairs
