Mar 21, 2007: Bees buzzing GMS

Wildlife at GMS continues to amuse and amaze us. This morning a group of honey bees decided to take up residence within the roof of Block 3. We hope that they are comfortable and soon, we shall be able to harvest fresh honey from the roof.

Since I had never seen bees swarm before, I took a sequence of photos and you can clearly see that over a period of about 15 minutes, the cluster of bees diminished in size until they were safely in their new home with little evidence of their initial swarm.

Here is what we first saw - a cluster of honey bees just below the peak of the roof.
