May 16, 2007: Web rebuilding and more

I returned about 7:15am and sure enough, she had rebuilt her web and of course, the many Argyrodes were busy doing their thing. Here she is, with a little orange Argyrodes above and to the right

From the side - mostly in the plane of the web, you can see little orange dots everywhere. Also, the golden color of her silk is well demonstrated

A closer view and there are at least 6 Argyrodes hanging around. These little guys build some sort of structure to the left of the web plane. This is a puzzle - is this for protection from the fate of becoming part of dinner?

This illustrates the Argyrodes size scale. Look carefully and you will see a diagonal silk thread and near the middle of the image is our little orange beauty

I returned about 7pm and she was still there - just chillin' a bit

There is a much larger number of Argyrodes (I don't know the plural) and now I am thinking that perhaps they congregate around super-mom during the evening and night?

This was hanging from the web - a something with a small insect inside
