May 20, 2007: Ants, Phintella vittata and a trapped butterfly

This is a wonderful and colorful jumping spider. Most kids in Singapore know this as the fighting spider. They catch them and then put two or more in a box and watch them do whatever they do. This appears to be a male because of the large palps (or palpi?).

These are the red ants that attacked me yesterday. Or rather, they probably thought I attacked them yesterday

This butterfly is caught in a spider web. The spider was absent so I'll check tomorrow to see if I can identify her
