Differential equations can be solved using matrix algebra. The
advantages to this method are that second, third, fourth and even
higher order differential equations can be all solved as first order
differential equations and that when forced to find a numerical
solution (as opposed to the analytic solutions shown in the first two
methods), most computer tools expect the input to be in matrix format.
